If you’re looking for one of the best phones out there right now, you probably have the Pixel 7 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro on your list of options. Both are premium high-end phones with the latest and greatest devices coming from their manufacturers. The iPhone 14 Pro is also the most similar in price to the Pixel 7 Pro while still keeping the latest chipset and high-quality specs and features.

We pit these phones against each other in our Pixel 7 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro comparison. Of course, we’ll go over all the key points, including the design, performance, screen, cameras, battery life, and more.

Also remember that we will only be focusing on the Pixel 7 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro. We won’t mention the Pixel 7, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, or iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Google Pixel 7 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro have very similar designs to their predecessors, the Pixel 6 series and iPhone 13. Both Google and Apple decided to follow the design languages of the previous generation, but that’s not necessarily bad.

With the Pixel 6 series, Google finally ramped things up with higher-quality materials and a more premium design. This ultimately puts the Pixel brand next to premium competitors like the latest Samsung Galaxy S phones, and of course Apple’s iPhones. No wonder Google decided to keep a similar look with the Pixel 7 Pro.

The Pixel 7 Pro comes with Gorilla Glass Victus on the back and front, with an aluminum frame that keeps them together. However, Apple is taking things to a higher level with the iPhone 14 Pro. The back and front are made of Corning glass, while the frame is made of solid stainless steel. Both are IP68 rated for water and dust protection.

Of course, there is also a difference in size. The Pixel 7 Pro has a huge 6.7-inch screen, while the iPhone 14 Pro keeps the 6.1-inch screen of a standard size. This means that the Pixel 7 Pro will be much larger, and therefore more difficult to handle. iPhone 14 Pro might be a better option for those looking for more pockets.

While we’re on the topic of displays, it might also be worth noting that the Pixel 7 Pro might be the best option if you’re looking for a high-quality viewing experience. Its panel is not only larger, but it also has a much higher resolution of 1,440 x 3120. The iPhone 14 has a resolution of 1,179 x 2,556. You might argue that this is due to the different screen size, but the PPI (Pixels Per Inch) is also higher on the Pixel 7 Pro at 512 PPI. The screen density of the iPhone 14 Pro is 460 pixels per inch.

The boards will be fine. The Pixel 7 Pro has an LTPO AMOLED panel, while the iPhone 14 Pro comes with an LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display. Both have a 120Hz refresh rate. iPhone 14 Pro has a brighter screen of 2000 nits. The Pixel 7 Pro’s display tops out at 1500 nits.

Although there are some noticeable hardware differences between the Pixel 7 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro, you probably won’t notice a real performance difference between the two. Both are flagships with the latest and greatest specs and features, so they should be extremely fast and handle anything you throw at them. You’ll probably only notice real performance differences when multitasking heavily.

The Pixel 7 Pro features a Google Tensor G2 processor and 12GB of RAM. Meanwhile, Apple introduced the A16 Bionic chipset and 6GB of RAM. There’s also a big difference in battery size, with the Pixel 7 Pro offering a large 5,000mAh battery. That’s significantly larger than the iPhone 14 Pro’s 3,200 mAh unit.

Not only should the Pixel 7 Pro hold a charge for longer, but it can also charge faster. Pixel 7 Pro supports 30W wired charging and 23W wireless charging. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 can reach 20 watts when wired, 15 watts using MagSafe, and 7.5 watts when wirelessly charging via Qi.

When choosing between Google Pixel 7 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro, the camera experience is among the most deciding factors. There is no denying that both Apple and Google are known for their impressive cameras, especially in the high-end department. The Pixel 7 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro will undoubtedly have amazing camera systems. Both have great hardware in the camera department. The Pixel 7 Pro has three cameras: 50 MP wide, 48 MP telephoto, and 12 MP ultra wide. The Apple iPhone 14 Pro doesn’t lag behind, offering a 48MP primary sensor and a dual 12MP sensor and remote shooting.

Aside from seemingly having superior hardware, we know that the Pixel series delivers some of the best smartphone cameras year after year. This was the case even with inferior hardware. The Google Pixel 7 Pro takes advantage of the advancements in computer imaging from Google, which can work wonders. You’ll likely get better results with the Pixel 7 Pro, but the iPhone 14 Pro will still take amazing photos.

The Pixel 7 Pro also got less fun with the Pixel 7 Pro’s color options. The two-tone options are gone, and the options are less colorful than before. The Pixel 7 Pro is available in Hazel, Snow, and Obsidian colours. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Pro is available in deep purple, gold, silver and black.

Pixel 7 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro: Which Should You Buy?

Google Pixel 7 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Pro Selfie Cameras

Ryan Haines / Android Authority

Choosing between Google and Apple is becoming more and more difficult. The Pixel 7 Pro and iPhone 14 offer great design, powerful performance, great cameras, and amazing experiences. Google and Apple are also the creators of Android and iOS, so this battle has been going on for many years.

However, some things do put phones within easy reach on different sides of the spectrum. Pixel 7 Pro has a bigger and better screen. It also has a much bigger battery, faster charging, and the power of Google’s AI behind its camera system. Of course, price is an important factor to consider, and Google has a clear leadership role. The Pixel 7 Pro starts at $899 – $100 less than the base iPhone 14 Pro.

There’s no denying that Apple has its advantages, too. The design remains class-leading, customer service is great, and build quality is just a little better. You also get the Apple ecosystem and a clearer user interface, which are among the most common reasons people get hooked on iPhones.
